D.P. Abrol
Dr. D. P. Abrol, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences of Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir. He was the Head of the Division of Entomology (August 2008 to February 2015) and Controller of Examinations (2012). He has served several universities in various capacities. He predominately specializes in pest management, honeybee and pollination biology. He has authored 18 books, 12 manuals and published over 250 original research papers in various national and international journals. He is associated with several externally funded collaborative research projects with international organizations of Poland and Switzerland. Professor Abrol is a fellow of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He has received the Young Scientist Award–1992 conferred by the Jammu and Kashmir State Council for Science and Technology for his outstanding contributions in the field of Agricultural Sciences. Additionally, he also received the Pran Vohra Award–1993, the Professor T. N. Ananthakrishnan Award–1997. He was awarded the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Puruskar–1999 for his Hindi book on beekeeping entitled “Madhumakhi Palan-Sidhant Evam Vidhian’’ and 11th Apicultural Association Award–2010 for his contributions in Apiculture. He is also presented with a gold medal for development of Apiculture in Asia by King Saud University.
