The Regional Rural Banks aim at poverty alleviation. Rayalaseema Grameena Bank was set up under the Regional Rural Banks Act 1976.The primary objective of the bank is to extend financial assistance to the weaker sections.such as small and marginal farmers,village artisans, and landless labour.This study is an attempt at evaluting the performance of Rayalaseema Grameena bank in terms of deposit mobilisation,recovery performance,and utilisation of credit. It also examines critically, the problems faced by the borrows, particularly poorest of the poor in securing credit.
It is the right time to examine the performance of Rayalaseema Grameena Bank in Andhra Pradesh in meeting the Credit requirements of the weaker Sections.
